Self-Study is the opportunity for an institution to tackle challenges and to place on the table issues that might otherwise go unaddressed." (NCA Handbook of Accreditation, 1997, p. 92).
NCA Accreditation, as outlined by the
North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, is a process that assembles timely information that profiles the entire NLU community. Through NCA Steering Committee and Criterion Subcommittee meetings, data are collected and evaluated, program and department assessments are analyzed, and an evaluation process is designed to shape university goals and initiatives.
The NCA Steering Committee selected, "Respecting the Past—Anticipating the Future," as its theme for the NLU Self-Study process. "Respecting the Past," honors our legacy of more than 100 years in educating children and adults from all walks of life. "Anticipating the Future" celebrates NLU’s vision as we continue to integrate technology, communication systems and assessment into all our educational programs and initiatives.
We invite you to begin your tour of our NCA website, which features ongoing and new committees, meeting agendas, and previews of new initiatives that are shaping the course of National-Louis University through the year 2010 – and beyond!
