Faces of NLU: Phillip Mundine
In our ongoing series spotlighting the journeys and accomplishments of our current students and alumni, we are thrilled to highlight Phillip Mundine, a dedicated student pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Special Education at National Louis University (NLU). A proud native of Chicago, Phillip is driven by a lifelong passion for supporting diverse learners and shaping the future generation.
Phillip's decision to pursue a master's degree in Special Education stems from his unwavering commitment to understanding and serving diverse student populations. "I genuinely want to help and understand how to best serve our student population, who are diverse learners.," Phillip explains. "This has been a passion that I've had with me ever since I was a young child". His desire to make a difference in the lives of students fuels his dedication to the field of Special Education.
For Phillip, NLU emerged as the perfect choice for pursuing his educational goals, offering a combination of factors that aligned with his needs and aspirations. "I chose NLU because it had everything that I was wanting," Phillip shares. "It was centrally located, had the degree plan I was looking for, and was cost-effective for me to attend school here in Chicago." Additionally, Phillip was drawn to NLU's experienced faculty, who provided invaluable insights and guidance in his chosen field.
NLU has played a pivotal role in equipping Phillip with the tools and resources necessary to pursue his career goals in Special Education. "National Louis has provided me with the tools to know what I really want to do with the rest of my life and how to focus all of my energy on that," Phillip acknowledges. Through engaging coursework, supportive faculty, and a comprehensive program of study, NLU has empowered Phillip to hone his skills and passion for serving diverse learners.
