NLU Partnership Team launches Forward Together
At National Louis University, we believe that true partnerships are built on trust with value-aligned organizations with whom we can co-construct and collaborate to achieve a common goal. Part of those efforts includes bringing together members of our community and our partners’ to a shared space to discuss how we can address key challenges.
To that end, this November, NLU hosted its inaugural Forward Together partner speaker series, a two-day event aimed at strengthening ties with community and professional partners. Held at NLU’s Lisle and Wheeling campuses, the series provided an engaging platform to promote NLU’s counseling programs and showcase the university’s broader educational offerings.
The events focused on NLU’s commitment to training future mental health professionals through innovative, accredited programs, in particular NLU’s CACREP-Accredited Counseling program.. Presentations and workshops led by NLU Counseling faculty provided insightful sessions on trauma-informed practices and counselor development, creating a space for shared learning and professional growth. Attendees left equipped with valuable insights to support their organizations' recruitment and retention goals while fostering a deeper understanding of NLU’s mission and student-centered approach.
This series underscored NLU’s dedication to preparing graduates for impactful careers in counseling and mental health. The university’s emphasis on holistic education and its dynamic partnerships with employers, community leaders, and alumni are vital to this vision. The Forward Together series not only strengthened existing collaborations but also expanded NLU’s network, ensuring that future professionals are trained in diverse, inclusive environments. The success of this inaugural event sets the stage for continued partnership opportunities and further innovation in the years to come.
