Course Template in the Learning Management System (LMS)
On or around the 4 weeks prior to the term start, your course will be populated with its professionally designed template. All of the course content, a template syllabus, and your textbook information will be contained in it. Our professionally designed courses are created through a team of subject-matter experts (like you!) and learning designers that bring your content to life and create a platform for excellent online teaching. All the course materials, learning activities, and assessments (e.g., discussions, assignments, and quizzes) are all tightly mapped to, and aligned to the course learning objectives (CLOs) for your course. Those CLOs are mapped tightly to the program learning objectives (PLOs), that are rolled up to university-level learning objectives (ULOs) which are based upon the Lumina Foundation Degree Qualification Profile (DQP). Interested in learning more about the DQP and why we align our curricula to it? Click here: www.degreeprofile.com
When your course template is initially loaded for you, it will be invisible to students to give you time to customize your syllabus, enter deadlines for all assignments, populate your Instructor Page, check the accuracy of your textbook against the NLU bookstore, and to review your content. Once you are ready, and at least 2.5 weeks prior to the course starting, please activate your course so students can see it and prepare for Day 1.
