Online Learning & Teaching

The Academic Computing department of Learning Information Technology Services (LITS) facilitates and supports online course development and distance learning efforts at National Louis University. The Desire2Learn (D2L) courseware product is the new standard used by the university. LITS provides free training and instructional design services to faculty who are interested in using D2L with their teaching.

D2L provides the university with an array of tools applicable to a variety of course formats: traditional classroom-taught courses, partially web-based classes, and entirely online classes. In addition, the D2L system is integrated with the university's Banner administrative system and Luminis web portal to create a robust online presence, provide one-point authentication (a single sign-on allowing you into all of the online resources needed for your educational experiences at NLU), facilitate communication, and strengthen collaborative efforts across the university.

To learn more about D2L at NLU and how you can garner the full potential of online learning, please contact Sonja Strahl at sonja.strahl@nl.edu.
