Elgin Community College Partnership
National Louis University (NLU) is honored to partner with Elgin Community College (ECC)!

Partnership Programs
Benefits apply to students enrolled in the following three NLU programs, taking courses onsite at ECC:
The Elementary Education MAT is for those holding a bachelor's degree in any subject who wish to obtain their Professional Educator's License to teach elementary-age students (grades 1-6) in the state of Illinois.
Our rigorous MAT ELE curriculum, paired with extended field-based experiences in diverse urban and suburban schools, will prepare you to teach with confidence. You will explore instructional methods specific to elementary-aged students and various content areas, learn how to design, deliver, and assess engaging instruction, and hone technology-forward and culturally responsive teaching practice to meet every learner's needs.
The MAT in Elementary Education degree program is typically completed in one-to-two years and leads to eligibility for an Illinois Professional Educator's License endorsed for self-contained general education (Grades 1-6).
NLU's Ed.S. or Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership is for those interested in promoting educational justice through ethical, mission-driven leadership in postsecondary institutions. Our practice-based, practitioner-oriented program prepares leaders who understand the complexities, challenges and changing landscape of higher education.
The program provides you with an in-depth study of all functional areas of higher education institutions. Coursework focuses on social justice and equity, applied research, and data-driven decision making to advance institutional goals. You will gain the knowledge and expertise to advance your career in higher education. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared to inspire organizational growth and systemic change to create a culture of inclusion within your institution.
The Master of Science in Counseling degree program at National Louis University prepares you to work as a counselor in a variety of settings, including schools, private practices and mental health clinics. You’ll delve into the study of human behavior and development, acquire professional counseling skills and engage with scholarly research. The program fulfills the educational requirements necessary to sit for both the National Board for Certified Counselors exam to become a Nationally Certified Counselor and the State of Illinois’ exam to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
