Biography:
Dr. Janice Nilsen joined National Louis University as an adjunct instructor for the HRMD program at National Louis University in 2016. She comes with a background of twenty years in business and human resources, having held a variety of leadership roles in fortune 500 companies. Whether in business, human resources, or education she has a track record of building functions, programs and processes that help people do their best work.
Both academically and in practice, Janice has a passion for organizational culture and employee engagement. Her dissertation titled “A Ground Theory Study: Can a New CEO Proactively Evolve and Manage Organizational Culture?” explored the connections between Organizational Culture, Employee Engagement and Trust.
Janice earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Development from Benedictine University with a focus in Organizational Culture and Change Management. She also holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a BA in Economics from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia PA. She is an active member of the Academy of Management and has held the Senior Professional in Human Resources certification since 2006.
Outside of work, Janice enjoys outdoor activities, particularly those where her two dogs, Riley a Black Labrador and Willow a Beagle-mix, can join in the fun.
