National Louis University believes ALL students can succeed in an inclusive campus and a caring community that supports them, helping them feel a sense of belonging and empowering them to be academically successful and to succeed personally and professionally.

Basic needs insecurities are a barrier for degree completion for the students who can most benefit from the social mobility a college degree provides. In a recent study, 55% of participating NLU students (N=656) experienced at least one basic needs insecurity (financial, food, or housing). Specifically, 40% reported being food insecure in the prior 30 days, a rate higher than at our peer institutions. NLU is committed to eliminating that barrier and supporting all our students!

National Louis University has expanded its market and launched a Louie's Fresh Market and Resource Hub resource page to connect students to community resources. Louie's Fresh Market and Resource Hub is a part of the university’s Student Affairs division, designed to support student success and serve as a single point of contact by sponsoring programs and services.

In addition, we curate and leverage community resources in key domains such as housing and food insecurity, financial literacy, employment, and childcare/support for student parents. This resides through Louie's Fresh Market and Resource Hub Collaborative of NLU staff and students working diligently to update and share resources throughout the community.
