Learning Outcomes
University Learning Outcomes (ULOs)
NLU adopted the Degree Qualification Profile’s (DQP) five themes as the common University Learning Outcomes (ULOs), adding a sixth theme unique to our institution. General education content and courses align to the ULOs, making assessment of general education outcomes a subset of the measurement of the ULOs. The ULOs align and reflect NLU's mission and values. This case study reflects how the Undergraduate College paved the way in adopting the DQP, while this document details the university's adoption process.
Below are the ULOs by number. See the ULO list here for a full description of each ULO.

Outcomes Framework
NLU’s outcomes-based framework showcases alignment of all levels of student learning outcomes across the institution (e.g., institutional, programmatic, and intervention-level assessment). Each area and level articulates their student learning outcomes, as well as alignment across levels. Outcome alignment is leveraged to support reporting on student learning at multiple levels (e.g. student, program, university level). See the NLU outcomes framework below.
Know ULO details are listed and linked above, student affairs outcomes can be found here, and UG/GR academic program learning outcomes are listed in the university catalog. Course learning outcomes and student affairs area-specific outcomes can be found in course documents and student affairs assessment plans/reports, respectively.
