Biography:

Dr. Tracee Farmer joined the faculty at National Louis University as an Assistant Professor in the National College of Education and the Reading Recovery® and Descubriendo la Lectura Center for Literacy in July 2019. Dr. Farmer teaches post-graduate level courses in literacy, leadership, theory, and research to prepare Instructional Coaches and Teacher Leaders. After a year of study, they provide initial and ongoing professional development for school coaches and intervention specialists in local school districts in Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. In addition, she is the Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy Clinical Coach.

Before joining NLU, Dr. Farmer served in various roles for school districts, including Reading Recovery Teacher Leader, Reading Recovery teacher, small group interventionist, classroom teacher, special education teacher, and summer school coordinator.

Dr. Farmer’s research interests include early literacy instruction, highly effective teaching practices that support accelerated achievement and equity in education.
