- Associate Professor Sadia Warsi published the book The Little Shelter That Could: Literacy Resilience of Mothers and Children Facing Homelessness, January 2026.
- Associate Professor Xiuwen Wu published the article "Go for the Mind: A Review of Go's Cognitive Benefits for the Young and Old" in the Journal of Go Studies, Vol. 19, No. 2.
- Associate Professor Ruth Quiroa co-authored the book chapter entitled "Beyond Candy Skulls and Latino Celebrations: Empowering Bilingual Latino Students' Identity Development with Diverse Culturally Relevant Literature" in E. R. Clark, B. B. Flores, & D. A. González (Eds.) Multicultural Literature for Latino Bilingual Children: Their Words, Their Worlds Second Edition.
- Professor Seema Imam co-authored Chapter 16, “Looking Back and Re-envisioning the Future: Islamic Schools in the United States,” in the book Islamic Philosophy of Education: Principles and Application, edited by Shaikh Abdul Mabud.
- NCE authors published two articles in the Illinois Reading Council Journal (Winter 25–26, Vol. 54, No. 1). Professor Kristin Lems authored “Confessions of a Beginning Dutch Learner.” Professor Sophie Degener co-authored “Professional Development: Teaching for Tumultuous Times” with Dr. Adelfio Garcia, alumnus, and Dr. Ivy Sitkoski, adjunct alumna.
- Assistant Professor Blanca Gamez-Djokic published "From Effective to Affective Research-Practice Partnerships (RPP): Bridging Empirical and Post-Qualitative Approaches to Study RPPs as Affective Cultural Forms" in Qualitative Inquiry, January 2026.
- Associate Professor Xiuwen Wu and NLU's Director of Engaged Research Shaunti Knauth published the research article "Applying a Practice of Data Framework: An Explorative Study of Coteachers’ Use of Student Data" in the American Journal of Education (AJE).
- ISTE’s Journal of Digital Learning in Teacher Education highlighted outcomes of NCE emerita faculty member Dr. Arlene Borthwick’s work on Q Methodology in an editorial entitled “The power of perspective: Using Q methodology to deepen technology infusion in teacher education.”
- Assistant Professor Ben Lathrop published the article "Teaching Literature in a Post-Truth World: Three Strategies for Integrating Critical Media Epistemology into Literature Curricula" in Changing English, 1-16, 2026.
- Professor Emeritus Carlos M. Azcoitia has shared his educational opinion article “How We Transform Ourselves to Achieve Academic, Community, and Personal Success” published in The Ignatian, Volume 9/Year 9, #1.
- Professor Eun Kyung Ko published “Culturally Responsive STEM Teaching with Artificial Intelligence” in the Journal of STEM Teacher Education Vol. 60, No. 1.
