Biography:
With over 20 years of professional experience within the education and healthcare fields, it has been an honor and privilege to work closely with adult learners, facilitating thought-provoking discussions, and enhancing students’ educational experiences for both on-line and on-site classes. I have facilitated courses at NLU and Chicago Public Schools for several years. In all my courses, an important lesson learned is respecting your fellow classmate’s point of view and thinking outside the box. I also encourage my students to approach learning with a positive outlook and remind them that learning can be life changing and exciting.
Prior to teaching, I worked in the healthcare industry for Rush Medical Center, NorthShore Healthcare Systems, Amita Health, Rush Healthcare, Advocate Healthcare and CVS Health providing revenue cycle and informatics services to over 500 medical clinics and hospitals. I launched my healthcare career with NorthShore’s Medical Group in 2002, providing operations, management, strategic planning and electronic health development. In addition, he worked for TCF Bank, Fifth Third Bank and United States Census Bureau.
Andrew King serves as Vice –Chair for South Loop Advisory Council. He advise 4th Ward Alderman Office and local business stakeholders to create pipelines that connect residents to economic opportunity, education and healthcare. Education is a proven and effective tool for increasing a population’s standard of living and lowering unemployment rates within City of Chicago.
Andrew King supported NATO Summit in Chicago, IL. This marked the first time in history that a NATO Summit would be held anywhere in the United States outside of Washington D.C. During the Summit, over 50 Heads of State would visit Chicago along with numerous members of their cabinets and thousands of members of the media from throughout the world. As such, the NATO Summit would place the City Of Chicago firmly on the world’s stage. For over 15 months, the CPD and United States Secret Service coordinated the operational planning for this historic event. An event of this magnitude would require a coordinated effort from Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement along with a multitude other public safety entities and public/private partners, including members of the Chicago Emergency Response Team (CERT).
