Partner Sites & Administrators
NLU and the Office of Field Experience (OFE) team recognize that school practitioners and university faculty have a joint responsibility for preparing aspiring educators. We believe that teacher training must include quality teaching experiences in a variety of diverse learning communities. Each year, we partner with over 1,000 community-based organizations, schools, and school districts to find quality placements for our teacher candidates in Illinois and across the country.
Hosting Teacher Candidates at Your Site
NLU is always looking to collaborate with more schools, districts and organizations to host our candidates for observation hours or as student teachers! All NLU teacher preparation candidates must complete a minimum 10 week, full-time student teaching placement with a district-approved mentor or ‘cooperating’ teacher that meets ISBE requirements.
If you’d like to partner with NLU to be a placement site for our teaching candidates, please contact Executive Director, Field Experience & PK-12 Partnerships Lisa Mozer at lisa.mozer@nl.edu for more details.
