Dig Deeper into how Students Learn Through your Teaching
The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) promotes scholarly inquiry into student learning to advance the practice of teaching through the dissemination of the subsequent research findings. CTLE sponsors two programs to promote SoTL at NLU: NCE Faculty Research Residencies and Faculty Inquiry Teams.
Faculty Research Residencies
Faculty Research Residency program provides a vehicle for NCE curriculum renewal through small field engaged research projects.

Faculty Inquiry Teams
OTL sponsor inquiry Teams comprised of faculty who share students and/or teach within the same program. Inquiry teams organize their work into short inquiry cycles focusing on a shared concern about student learning, problem of practice and/or teaching design challenge. They define and conduct their work through quarterly cycles in which they develop their question and methods of inquiry; implement their research, analyze data, represent their findings, and disseminate to interested stakeholders. Frequently Inquiry Teams continue their work through additional cycles based on new questions and/or needed refinements.
