Faculty

Faculty within the Reading and Language department are theory and practice-oriented scholars. Fervent advocates for educational equity in literacy, faculty members collaborate with teachers, school, and district leaders in various settings to conduct community-engaged action research on effective literacy models and instructional practices. Reading and Language faculty also direct the work of three Centers within the University that support our students' learning experiences. NLU's Center for Literacy, Reading Recovery Center, and the Center for Teaching through Children's Books offer literacy-based professional development opportunities, conferences, events, and seminars.
