Stuart Ives Carrier specializes in graduate coursework and doctoral research in Curriculum & Instruction (CIC), Educational Leadership (EDL), Postsecondary Teaching & Instructional Leadership (PTIL), and Technology in Education. He teaches CIC seminars, EDL courses in leadership theory and change leadership, and PTIL courses in postsecondary teaching practice and instructional design. He supervises doctoral candidates in dissertation research and field experiences.

Biography:
Dr. Stuart Ives Carrier currently serves National-Louis University as Associate Professor of Educational Leadership Studies in NLU’s National College of Education (NCE), focused on supporting NCE’s programs in Strategic Educational Leadership, Higher Education, and Curriculum & Instruction. A former high school English teacher, Stuart teaches NLU courses related to strategic leadership, doctoral research, postsecondary teaching, and curriculum & instruction.

Stuart feels fortunate to have experienced an integrated career unified by the theme of developing learning communities in a variety of settings -- within cohort groups, off-campus resident centers, campus systems, and virtual community. For recreation, he reads, jogs, hikes, and studies music & film. In May 2016 he and Dr. Nancy Fraser Carrier hiked 129 kilometers (80 miles) from Samos to Santiago on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain.
