National Louis University’s School of Nursing, launched in 2023, prepares students to enter or advance in the nursing profession through multiple pathways to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The school responds to the growing call from healthcare, nursing, and educational organizations for more baccalaureate-prepared nurses, combining classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience.

National Louis University offers multiple entry pathways to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, including:

National Louis University is institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and its BSN program is approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation/Illinois Board of Nursing. The School of Nursing is also pursuing accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), with an on-site evaluation of its baccalaureate program scheduled for February 2026.

The RN to BSN pathway is designed for licensed registered nurses who hold a diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) and wish to complete their bachelor’s degree. Applicants must have completed their diploma or ADN program at an accredited school and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

The Accelerated BSN Hybrid program is designed for individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree in another field and want to transition into nursing. Spanning five quarters, the program combines online coursework with in-person clinical and lab experiences, including more than 690 clinical hours across areas such as Adult Health, Child Health, Obstetrics and Gynecologic Health, Behavioral Health, and Population Health.

Many of NLU’s nursing programs include in-person clinical and lab experiences at the university’s Center for Simulation and Interprofessional Education in Chicago, in addition to clinical placements at healthcare sites.
